It’s a busy week for Simian Mobile Disco, aka the partnership of Jas Shaw and James Ford, who’ve just released ‘Unpatterns’, their fi fth album, which draws infl uences from the current taste for bass, as well as tempering their high-grade techno with housier tones.

Fresh from appearing on Mary Anne Hobbs’s XFM show for a 25-minute mix, they’ve also just appeared on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show. Then on Thursday 17th May they make a very special intimate in-store appearance at London institution Phonica Records. Starting at 7pm, early birds will be rewarded with free refreshments courtesy of Tiger Beer.


Friday 18th of May is the offi cial ‘Unpatterns’ album launch as they hit Fabric. Having programmed room one, SMD are joined by Blondes playing live and DJ sets from Objekt and Daniel Avery. Pinch’s label Tectonic are in room two meanwhile, whilst room three is hosted by Sonic Router.
