Government not good sports
I read with interest your feature on how some London schools are preparing for the Olympics and Paralympics. I was especially heartened to read how these inner-city schools are developing links with many of the organisations responsible for delivering what I hope will be memorable Games.
What worries me, and what your article touched on, is what happens next? I do hope the Games will leave a positive legacy, but so many schools have had sports funding cuts by this coalition Government. What do other teachers think?
Alison Huggett, Reading
Thank you TSN
Thank you for your article on the Teachers’ Support Network which couldn’t have come at a better time for me following a difficult time both personally and professionally.
It was especially good to read that the service they offer is confidential. Sometimes talking to colleagues, family or friends doesn’t feel right; you don’t want to be a burden, especially now when so many people are struggling. I found it reassuring to find out there’s an organisation for teachers which can give such specific support.
