Britain's workers (KS3/4)

 The TUC has launched a new online resource, ‘Britain at Work: Voices from the Workplace 1945-1995’. It is a fascinating labour history site for students, trade unionists and others.

Young Lord Sugars (KS2)

 Children will be able to roll out their own working business model through a new enterprise in education teaching pack. The Schools Teaching Enterprise Programme (STEPteam) aims to introduce children to the business world and instil entrepreneurial aspirations at an early age through a programme of structured learning, addressing key areas of the curriculum, notably English, maths and ICT.

Focus with fish (KS1/2)

 Artis Education releases a new, free, simple-to-use video every term. This term it’s Fish Game, an activity helping teachers focus their class before a lesson and helping them work as a team.

Tell me a story (All KSs)

 Master storyteller and illustrator Fran O’Boyle brings history to life as Victorian storyteller Julius Drake. He also runs workshops for those with lots of ideas but not the literary skills to express them, and for parents who want to learn how to share the joy of books with their children.

I dream (KS1/2)

 Charity Sightsavers has launched its 2012 Junior Painter of the Year competition, themed i:dream. Winning entries will go on display at the Royal Academy of Arts in the autumn.

I like the way you move (All KSs)

Cool it Schools’ Writing the World poetry and short story competition reflects the 2012 Olympics and is called ‘I like the way you move’. Children think how different life forms move and write about it.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Bearsday (KS1/2)

Paddington Bear is encouraging primary schools to register for the annual Bring Your Bear event to raise funds for Action Medical Research. Just choose a day in May or June when children bring their teddy or favourite soft toy and a donation of £2 to help sick babies and children.

Rada workshops for teachers

 A level and BTec theatre studies teachers can apply for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art’s professional development programme. The first workshop is a Teachers Directing Workout, on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 May.
