JENNY PRESCOTT


Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has appointed Jenny Prescott as director of business development for the UK and Ireland. Prescott joined CWT from Globalstar, where she held the role of executive director of sales and account management. Prior to this, she worked with HRG for more than 15 years.


DECLAN COLLIER


Declan Collier as been appointed chief executive officer of London City Airport. Prior to his


appointment, Collier was chief executive of the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) since April 2005. Before joining DAA he held senior management positions at Exxon Mobil.


TITUS JOHNSON


Airberlin has appointed Titus Johnson as vice-president of sales and marketing for Airberlin Americas Inc, the New York-based hub of the airline’s commercial activities in the Americas. Johnson has been working for Airberlin since 2006, most recently in the role of country manager, UK and Ireland.


FRANK BACHER


Frank Bacher has been appointed regional vice-president of online segment for Sabre Travel


Network. Bacher will lead Sabre’s online business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), with


additional country responsibilities for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Nordic region.


MELANIE NEWMAN Melanie Newman has been appointed account director at meetings and events agency


Zibrant. Her responsibilities include delivering and overseeing annual account management strategy for one of the agency’s largest clients. Newman was formerly a key account director at Q Hotels.


MARGARET FALCONER Margaret Falconer has been appointed as head of meetings and events at Dunfermline-based TMC Equilibrium Travel. Falconer has worked in the events sector for more than 20 years, organising international events for various industries including finance, pharma and oil and gas.


IAN RYDIN


The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has appointed Ian Rydin as general manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel at Manchester airport. Rydin started his managerial career in 1993 at Stöten Ski Resort in Sweden and gained industry experience working in various food and beverage positions in Sweden, Malaysia and Cyprus.


TONY FARMER


Tony Farmer has been appointed head of sales and route development at Oxford Airport. Farmer has 30 years’ experience in aviation, holding sales and marketing roles with


airlines, including 10 years with Saudi Airlines in London and, most recently, sales and marketing manager for private jet operator Cello Aviation.


IAN THOMAS Q Hotels has appointed Ian Thomas as commercial director. He will be responsible for a team of more than 150 people, leading sales and marketing for the chain of 21 properties across the UK. Thomas has previously worked for Kraft Foods, Moat House, Guoman and Thistle, and Village.


PORTMAN TRAVEL Portman Travel has appointed Mark Wheeler as strategic account manager, and Susie Palmer as customer focus team development manager. Wheeler, previously client general manager at American Express Business Travel, will be based at the company’s headquarters in Chertsey and joins the UK team led by Johan Persson, vice-president, account management. Palmer will be based at Portman’s Stoke-on-Trent sales office, with responsibility for the management and development of Portman's customer focus team. She previously managed the TMC supplier team at Eurostar.


Michael Halsall Grace Hotels has appointed Michael Halsall as director of sales and marketing. Halsall previously spent four years at Rocco Forte’s Balmoral hotel in Edinburgh, and previous sales and marketing roles included Kraft Foods, the Compass Group, the Ian Schrager Company, the Hyde Park Intercontinental and the Langham.
