VarIoUS ‘OSUNLADE: IN THE HOUSE’ DEFECTED

AS well as being a Yoruba priest (and naturally running Yoruba Records), US-born producer Osunlade has some funky fl esh tunnels going on in his ears, having ditched the bone he once wore through his nose. Out this week, his new double CD mix for Defected shows a similar tribal sensibility when it comes to his beats, polyrhythmic drums mixing with soulful,

jazz-infl ected house chords on tracks such as Ame’s remix of his own ‘Envision’, the title track from last year’s artist album, and MK’s remix of Inner City’s ‘Future’, probably the best work since his return. Hit the Defected site and they’re also currently offering three for two on albums, so you can grab yourself a bargain.
