T.WILLIAMS INTERVIEW


HAVING met Londoner T.Williams, we can attest that he’s as friendly as he is prolifi c. One of the driving forces behind UK house label Deep Teknologi, his Terri Walker-fronted track ‘Heartbeat’ made the iTunes end of year dance chart in 2010 – just below ‘Coma Cat’ and ‘We No Speak Americano’. Since then he’s risen through the UK’s house and bass ranks, the likes of Soul Clap guesting on his Rinse show (every Sunday from 3-5pm), the broadsheets joining the clamour around his superb vinyl- only Fact mix and his club sound stretching from 2-step to deep house depending on his booking. With his ‘Can We’ EP out on Enchufada now, we caught up for a chat.


FREE RUSKO REMIX ALBUM


OUR April DJ Mag cover star, UK dubstep producer Rusko - real name Chris Mercer – is currently living a rock star-like existence as his rolling road/rave show traverses the States at the rate of virtually a show a night. One of the scene’s larger-than-life characters as his cracking interview shows, his sophomore album ‘Songs’ (out now on Diplo’s Mad Decent label) certainly doesn’t tone down any of his on-stage energy, putting dub, dubstep, garage and rave into his own distinctive sonic blender and adding a shot of vodka to the resultant potent brew.
