lthough the Hendersonville, TN Police Department had a Motor Unit in the past, it was eliminated over the last three years. There were two 2003 Electra Glide®


motor-


cycles and the Motor Officers rode spo- radically. In December, 2011, new Chief Mickey Miller (a 33 ½ year veteran of the Metro Police Dept before taking over as


Hendersonville’s Chief in October 2010) re-instituted the Traffi c Division and formed the Blue Eagles Motor Unit. With the addition of six new 2012 Police Bikes rented from

now. Chief Miller rides one of them. The Motor Officers include: L to R, Chief Miller, Lt. Daniels, Cpl. Germany, Cpl. Holscher, Off. Rapp, Off. Leckner, Off. Messer (The fi rst female Motor Offi cer in Sumner County’s History), and Off. Manning. The Hendersonville Police Department has 95 sworn offi -


cers, 25 civilian personnel, and 32 Reserve offi cers. Chief Miller’s father was a Motor Offi cer for the Nashville


P.D. (See Memory Lane on page 6). In addition, Chief Miller’s uncle, Snookie Miller, was also a Motor Offi cer.
