WE don’t want you to think that we’re obsessed with Dirtybird or anything but their recent London warehouse party – which had their largest line-up ever - proved to be suitably spicy. At the giant Oval Space in East London, a newly renovated fi rst fl oor warehouse overlooking the industrial backdrop of an old gasworks, the music was as meaty as the gourmet burgers with a full 15 hours of DJs... before the after-party. Nothing accompanies grilled meat like French fries and the Parisian DJ was dropping garage bombs like Wookie’s remix of Sia’s


‘Little Man’ when we arrived. With the giant space rammed with youthful ravers, the temperature was hot enough to fry an egg unaided but with the likes of J. Phlip, Sacha Robotti, Catz ‘N Dogz, Eats Everything, Leroy Peppers, A1 Bassline, Tom Flynn and Justin Martin on hand, we were undaunted. Highlight though had to be boss-man Claude VonStroke getting on the mic to shout “take off your pants”, then playing his set in socks and pants and not putting them on again until it was time to kick everyone out. Genius.
