Legoland Resorts

Although the original Legoland in Billund, Denmark, boasts its own on-site hotel with direct access to the park, the new property in Windsor is the first purpose-built and fully-themed Legoland Hotel. Next year, families will also be able to stay the night at Legoland California when the park in Carlsbad opens the USA’s first Lego themed hotel, with a second planned at a later date at Legoland Florida in Winter Haven. A hotel is also part of the plan for the new Legoland Malaysia near Singapore, opening towards the end of this year.

In each of these cases, the arrival of the hotel signals the rebranding of the parks as “resorts,” a process which began at Legoland California in 2008 with the addition of Sea Life Carlsbad Aquarium. Given many Lego fans’ devotion to the little plastic bricks, an overnight stay represents a dream come true.
