As the only indoor/outdoor waterpark attached to a shopping mall, Wahooo! is quite distinctive in its offering. We believe that we are and more than simply a waterpark; we are more of a leisure destination and one would be hard pressed to find a similar attraction with our range of rides and activities. We cater to everyone; local Bahraini residents, weekend visitors and international tourists. Around 70% of our visitors are repeat customers, which also include corporate and school visits.


Our biggest challenge, and one that we continue to address, is how to educate the local market to the concept of indoor swimming. We have tried to make swimming available for all, regardless of age or cultural beliefs, with such programmes as our STA Swimming lessons ladies only nights. It is important to constantly raise the bar, so we proactively listen to our guests and are constantly looking at new ways to improve our park. Majid Al Futtaim is always looking to introduce unique leisure offers at it malls, but whether this will include another waterpark remains to be seen.

Arab Spring


one year on Located just 500 metres from Pearl Roundabout in the Bahraini capital of Manama, the Bahrain City Centre shopping mall was close to the civil unrest this time last year during “Arab Spring.” Yet fortunately Wahooo! Waterpark was closed on only one occasion, for less than a week, along with the rest of the mall. “The safety of our staff and guests is of the utmost importance to us,” says spokesperson Shama Uchil. “All precautions were taken, including open lines of communication with the mall management team who were in constant contact with the authorities.”
