Medicine Ball Training Fitness Tip – Keith Byard, ACSM, USMC

Lectures nationally and internationally on fitness, sports performance and health, Personal Trainer and Adjunct Professor, Co. College of Morris

Medicine Ball exercises are an important tool for developing sport specific power. While there are various methods to increase power, a common element is speed of contraction. Medicine balls are relatively light, allowing exercises to be performed explosively. My favorite exercise is to hold a medicine ball with 2 hands and draw the alphabet in capital letters A to Z, often as a warm-up.
