Tracsis Consultancy (formally known as RWA Rail) is a leading provider of strategic and operational planning to the rail industry. We use state of the art software to undertake a range of assignments, including timeta- bling, performance modelling and resource planning.

RWA Rail has extensive contracts with many of the TOC owning Groups and has a substantial forward work load with the refranchising timetable.

We use state of the art software to undertake a range of assignments, including timetabling, performance modelling, revenue forecasting and resource planning.
We are looking for a passenger demand forecasting specialist to head up a brand new Demand and Rev- enue team. The successful candidate will be expected to train and manage a small team of consultants providing forecasting assessments for future timetables in both the franchise bid environment and for long term planning. Although you will be expected to train the existing consultancy team there will be the op- portunity to recruit additional consultants directly into the Demand and Revenue team.
Essential skills: • A detailed knowledge of the principles behind Passenger Demand Forecasting Handbook (PDFH) • • • • • • • • •
• Be able to see the big picture whilst maintaining an eye for detail • Enthusiasm, energy and a sense of humour
Good IT skills are essential but full training will be given on the specialist systems we use. A willingness to learn about railway operations, signalling and train performance is also essential and applications from candidates with some experience or interest in rail or transport planning would be welcome. An eye for detail and a good standard of written and spoken English is essential. A degree in Transport, Engineering, Maths or Computer Science would also be advantageous, as would experience of technical report writing.
Experience of using specialist demand forecasting software in particular MOIRA and MOIRA 2 A history of winning work within the demand and revenue sector Experience of managing a small team with effective collaborative working Strong project management skills
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Word High level of numeracy with developed critical and analytical skills Experience of the rail franchise bidding environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience of technical report writing
Applicants with a background in rail demand forecasting are preferred but experience of forecasting within other transport industries will also be considered relevant.
The role will be based full time at our new office on Pride Park in Derby, less than 5 minutes’ walk from the Railway station.

With the recent publication of the DfT refranchising timetable we are looking for several new members to join our small but growing team of modellers and analysts. We are looking for applicants with an all round knowledge of operational planning and are interested in receiving applications from specialists in train crew planning, rolling stock diagramming, rostering and timetabling. Applications with experience of using industry standard software for the above disciplines would have a distinct advantage but is not essential.
