Recruitment Operations Standards Manager
Blackfriars, London c£53,000 depending on experience
Serving London, Kent and East Sussex, Southeastern operates around 2,000 trains a day over 1,094 miles of railway infrastructure, varying from the cab signalled HS1 and the complexity of London Bridge, to rural lines with semaphore signalling. We now have a rare opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated Operations professional to join our team of Silver Investors in People as Operations Standards Manager.
This is a fundamentally important role in maintaining the highest levels of safety across the Southeastern network. As our Professional Head of Operations, you and your team will be accountable for identifying and assessing operational risks; setting and communicating company operational standards; competence assessment of operations managers; monitoring and auditing operational performance and carrying out significant incident investigations. You will work closely with our Service Delivery and Engineering teams (who have line management responsibility for safety critical front-line staff) to assure effective management of operational risks throughout the company. And your advice, guidance and input will support company decision making.
You will be an experienced railway operations professional able to bring
proven management experience and with a strong understanding of the rules and standards applicable on Network Rail infrastructure. A clear thinker and excellent communicator, you will bring with you a passion for continuous improvement and the interpersonal skills to work effectively throughout the business at all levels, as well as with other Govia TOCs, RSSB and ORR. You will also have the presence and personal qualities to represent Southeastern in situations as varied as a major incident, a presentation to industry bodies or a trip on the Royal Train. Ideally you will have both TOC and Network Rail experience and be an IRO member or studying on an appropriate programme to attain membership.
We offer a competitive salary with excellent benefits including final salary pension scheme, a strong management development ethos, and the opportunity to develop your career in Operations to the next level.
