Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding role in a dynamic industry? First Capital Connect carries more than 150,000 people into and across the capital each day and employs more than 2,100 staff at 100-plus locations. We are part of FirstGroup Plc, which is the UK’s largest transport organisation.
We have an excellent opportunity in our Train Planning department for a Short Term Train Planner within the Thameslink team.
This crucial role will work closely with Network Rail to produce compliant timetable variations caused by engineering works or special events, and every effort must be made to protect a maximum service that minimises any adverse effect to the customer.
The role will require the ability to creatively develop resilient train paths while understanding the infrastructure capabilities of the route, and the postholder will also be required to economically adjust rolling stock and train crew resources to fit the proposed train plan while ensuring that any rail replacements are reliable and efficient.
The role will demand accuracy while working within, and adhering to, the challenging industry timescales concerned. A sound
