NGPG’s specialties include bariatric surgery, cardiology, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, critical care medicine, family medicine, general surgery, inpatient medicine, interventional pain medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, occupational medicine, psychiatry, sports medicine, urgent care, urology and vascular surgery. NGPG has two primary care locations
staffed with board certified family medicine physicians in the Dahlonega and Dawsonville communities. Within these practices, physicians and staff work together with each patient to provide compassionate, high quality health care you can trust. Services include: wellness exams, sick visits, immunizations, X-ray, EKG and school and sports physicals.

In addition, both
practices accept same day appointments and convenient office hours to meet the needs of their patients. NGPG DAHLONEGA But just because NGPG is
big doesn’t mean you won’t get exceptional personal care. “We are fortunate to have remarkable staff,” states Dr. Allison Turk who has been with NGPG Dahlonega for almost three years. “All of our staff is from
this area and have been in this actual practice for many years. They know the patients well, and because of that we are able to provide individual, compassionate care.” Dr. Turk completed her residency in Asheville, North Carolina but was born and raised in Hall County. “I chose to return to Georgia and have always considered this area home.” Dr. Turk practices with Dr. Mark Moers, who has been with the office for almost ten years. Dr. Turk chose to practice medicine because she enjoys working with people one-on-one. “One thing that sets our practice apart is our goal as physicians to respect patient autonomy and to educate our patients so they can make the best decisions about their health care. Our care is patient-centered. We treat the whole patient, not just the disease.” Dermatology Associates of
Northeast Georgia sees patients at the NGPG Dahlonega office two days a week and a board certified urologist from NGPG Urology sees patients onsite one day a week. NGPG Dahlonega also offers outpatient
rehabilitation and massage therapy. In addition, being under the NGPG umbrella allows NGPG Dahlonega access to a shared computer network that allows the practice to easily communicate and coordinate information with other NGPG specialists and practices for seamless and efficient patient care. NGPG DAWSONVILLE Dr. Katia Adams joined Dr. Paul
Behrmann and Dr. Ernst Nieuwoudt at NGPG Dawsonville almost one year ago. Originally from Brazil, Dr. Adams began her career as a general surgeon and then a vascular surgeon. She moved to the United States in the 1990s, and after completing her residency at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, began her career as a family medicine physician. First introduced to north Georgia during her residency, Dr. Adams was excited to return and serve the community she once called home. Dr. Adams’ mother is a retired nurse,
who was a large influence as to Dr. Adams’ desire to help people and enter the medical field. Dr. Adams was drawn to family medicine by her interest in the benefits of preventive medicine and the opportunity family medicine affords to educate and work together with patients to help them achieve and enjoy a healthy well-balanced life. “My goal is to promote good health practices to prevent future complications and to give the best care I can to my patients.”
Dr. Adams enjoys being part of NGPG
because of the operational resources it provides her practice, which allows her to concentrate on her patients and not the logistics of running a business. “For example, through NGPG’s shared electronic medical record network, when I send a patient to a NGPG specialist,” Dr. Adams explains, “the physician can review the patient records, my notes and all the lab work in real time which helps to improve the quality of care my patients receive.” “It is an exciting time to be a part of
NGPG and our growing Health System,” says Adams. “Our NGPG Dawsonville physician team has more than 68 years of combined experience, and I am proud to say, continues to innovate and identify ways to improve and enhance the quality of care for our patients.”
