years of research into forecasting techniques and methodology, Quixoticity says it has conceived a new way of understanding and interpreting post-modern societies and economies dependent upon rapidly evolving technological innovation.


lf Ewaldsson has been appointed senior vice president, chief technology offi cer, head of group function technology and portfolio management


at Ericsson. Mr Ewaldsson was previously head of product area radio within Ericsson’s


business unit networks and a member of Ericsson’s research board. He was involved in defi ning the creation of Ericsson products based on HSPA


and LTE in the Radio Access Network and the Antenna Integrated Radio Unit (AIR). He will be a member of Ericsson’s executive leadership team and will be based in Stockholm, Sweden.

T-Ericsson, a joint-venture of STMicroelectronics and Ericsson,


has appointed Ronen Ben-Hamou as head of the company’s system silicon development and thin modem solutions groups. “This is a new step in our plans


to develop an organization focused on time-to-market, execution and ultimately sustainable profi tability”, said Didier Lamouche, president and chief executive of ST-Ericsson. “With


his extensive background in semiconductor and wireless platforms from an R&D and execution point of view, I feel confi dent that Ronen will be able to drive the delivery of some of our company’s key programmes in a timely, effi cient manner.” Mr Ben-Hamou joined ST-Ericsson in April 2011 after having led the modem business unit of a large semiconductor company.

amih Elhage has been appointed chief operating of-


fi cer of Nokia Siemens Network. Mr Elhage will join in March, reporting to the company’s chief executive offi cer, Rajeev Suri. “Samih brings a great deal of


telecommunications, operations, business transformation and man- agement experience to our new role of chief operating offi cer”, said Mr Suri. “With our strategy clearly defi ned and restructur- ing underway, I am particularly pleased to have Samih join us to focus on driving operational ex- cellence as well as improving our overall mode of operations.”
