QFavourite book?
A The Ascent of Man – Jacob Bronowski. Why? It is an education and a good read in one. It puts together many of the pieces of our physical and social evolution. I like books that make me think.
QFavourite food?
A I am known for my ongoing global survey of Caesar salads. I wouldn’t say that it is my favorite food but you can’t beat a really well prepared and authentic one. Proper shaved parmesan cheese, fresh lettuce, crisp croutons and the anchovies with just the right amount of dressing.
QFavourite film?
A How do you pick one movie from so many great ones. Ok, I will go with “Fargo”. I just love the persistent and pregnant police officer Marge and her Dakota drawl.
QDream holiday?
A I want to play the Alabama Trail and as many of the top 100 golf courses as I can – because they are there!
QAny pets?
A A chocolate Labrador called Rosie! Big, intelligent and a good partner for a morning stroll.
QWhat are your hobbies? A My hobbies mostly involve sporting

QFavourite sport and sports personality?
A I am a keen sailor – but not many sailors are famous. I respect and greatly admire Ben Ainslie (three time Olympic gold medalist and going for his fourth in 2012) but he is a hard guy to really like. I am following the Volvo Ocean race at present, and get the most entertainment from Ken Read, US skipper of Puma. He is such good fun in a very hard game.
QFavourite TV programme?
A It has to be between “Outnumbered” and “Modern Family.”
QFavourite comedian?
A Steve Martin in his older stuff like ‘The Jerk’ and ‘Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid’
QSocial networking – good or bad?
A I am a skeptic other than for LinkedIn. I am not a Facebook fan but the rest of my family are!
QConsumerisation of IT – good or bad?
A What’s wrong with consuming technology as long as you recycle sensibly!
QCloud – good or bad? A Mostly good. Efficient use of resources. QYour job – the good?
