MEDLAB 2012 EXHIBITION AND CONGRESS
Welcome to the first issue of Medlab magazine for 2012. After the highly successful Medlab Exhibition and Congress, held alongside Arab Health at the end of January, this issue aims to build upon and review some of the key topics and issues surrounding medical laboratories that were discussed during the event. As a crucial component of healthcare, laboratory medicine provides all those involved in the healthcare industry with vital information that can make the difference in the quality, safety and efficacy of care given to patients.
On page 18, Dr. Mohsen Shafaei from Siemens talks about recent diagnostic products launched by Siemens and the ways in which Siemens are focusing on increasing workflow and patient safety in medical laboratories. Medlab magazine were fortunate enough to interview Dr Shafaei during Arab Health to learn more about some of the trends in laboratory medicine and how this is affecting the Middle East market.
