Newton Media is delighted to be able to join the Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) and its members in celebrating the association’s 40th birthday. CICA has come a long way since its humble beginnings back in 1972 when a handful of captives decided to band together to discuss concerns, with a membership today of more than 400 organisations and an increasingly prominent role in the world of captives.
This anniversary edition is a celebration both of CICA’s past achievements and its ongoing commitment to the captive industry. Drawing together thoughts from CICA chairmen past and present, senior members of the CICA board, industry luminaries, service providers and captive domiciles from around the world, this edition provides a detailed overview of the world of captives and CICA’s role within it.
Taking in a sweep of issues—from the history of CICA and the captive industry; captive variation and differentiation; tax issues and regulation to new and seasoned domiciles—this anniversary edition is an invaluable record of captive development and future expectations.
We congratulate Dennis Harwick, CICA and all its members on the success of the association’s first 40 years. Here’s hoping the next 40 will be as fruitful for CICA and captive insurance. l
