HAVING last week announced Heidi for the annual DJ Mag sellout pool party at the Shelborne, Miami, on Wednesday 25th of March, we’re pleased to announce another fantastic artist on our 2012 line- up: Solomun.

A Hamburger (always welcome in America), in 2011 Solomun’s remix of Noir and Haze’s ‘Around’ – which has over a million YouTube views - was the track of the summer, slaying Ibiza with it’s lazy funk. It’s a trick he repeated with his remix of Super Funk’s ‘Lucky Star’ featuring Ron Carroll, transforming the original’s funk-driven bassline (which sampled Chris Rea’s ‘Josephine’, fellow


trainspotters), into something altogether darker and sexier.


His label DIYnamic has also continued to put out equally fi ne tracks, the likes of Uner, David August and H.O.S.H pouring disco and funk infl uences into glittering deep house jewels, while sister label 2DIY4 set up a home for boogifi ed re-edits, rejigging everyone from Michael McDonald to Blackstreet.
