Inderscience publishes first issues of five new journals
Inderscience has recently published the first issues of five new journals. The International Journal of Computational Systems Engineering is for researchers in the field of computational algorithms, intelligent information systems, computer applications and other related areas of science and engineering, focusing on the state-of-the-art aspects of theoretical analysis and practical application. The International Journal
of Information Privacy, Security and Integrity presents research results in the theory, application, implementation, analysis, design and evaluation of information privacy and security. The other journals are the International Journal of Planning and Scheduling; the International Journal of the Built Environment and Asset Management; and the International Journal of Web Science.

Streamlining usage data management
EBSCO has released EBSCONET Usage
Consolidation, a tool designed to help librarians collect, consolidate, and report on the usage of their online collections.
This tool enables librarians to load COUNTER reports from any COUNTER- compliant content provider; it also supports both manual loading of COUNTER reports and automated harvesting and loading using SUSHI.
According to EBSCO, because of the real-time connection between EBSCONET Subscription Management and the data in Usage Consolidation, librarians can see overall title usage and cost-per-use details — both at the individual title level and, through EBSCONET’s reporting functionality, in the context of their other e-journal subscriptions.

RSC supports Japanese Shibboleth
RSC Publishing is developing its RSC
Publishing Platform to work with Shibboleth institutions all over the world. The platform is already
compliant with UK Access Management Federation and now RSC Publishing is meeting the requirements of the Japanese Federation GakuNin for its Shibboleth compliance. GakuNin member institutions can now access content they subscribe
to with their GakuNin username and password whether on or off campus. Shibboleth offers federated identity-based authentication and authorisation which allows one security domain to be shared with the users of that federation, enabling members to have single sign on and removing the need for multiple usernames and passwords.

Emerald Group Publishing has launched its first publishing app with Propeller Mobile. Developed for Apple’s iPhone and iPad and downloadable from the Apple store, the Emerald app is said to allow users to access Emerald’s extensive library and read full-
text content, which can then be shared via social media. The app was designed and developed for Emerald by Propeller Mobile, the mobile unit of London-based communications company Propeller Group.

Maney Publishing buys occupational and environmental health title
Maney Publishing has purchased the International Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health from Hamilton Hardy Publishing. This quarterly journal is said to be tailored towards both academics and health professionals, offering articles that cover a range of disciplines and promote
health within the workplace and the relationship between human health and the environment worldwide. From 2012 all content will be covered within CrossRef. The journal is also included in Web of Knowledge within both the Science and Social Science Citation Index.

More EDP Sciences journals move to Cambridge
Following a first wave, five more EDP Sciences journals have moved to the Cambridge Journals Online platform of Cambridge University Press. The new titles are: Mechanics & Industry (formerly Mécanique & Industries), International
Journal of Metrology and Quality Engineering, Revue de Métallurgie – International Journal of Metallurgy, European Astronomical Society Publications Series and Journal of Dentofacial Anomalies and Orthodontics.
