THE WINNERS OF BEST OF BRITISH 2011

WHEN the Top 100 DJs poll began in the 1990s, it was pretty much all UK DJs that featured. But as it became internationalised, DJ Mag made the decision to create the Best Of British awards — where we, a UK-based magazine, get to shine the spotlight on the talent of our own fair shores. 2011 has been a fi ne year for British electronic DJs and producers. Jamie Jones and Maya Jane Coles have really broken through into the big-time, and there’s a whole new generation — in all styles from house to dubstep, bass music to techno, d&b to melodic dance and so on — following in their slipstream. The UK scene has really never been so vibrant.
