The wing is started by cutting a spar cap from sheet stock and gluing in the shaped spar on top (above left). The spar cap is shimmed up on the end to contact the tapered spar. The ribs fit over the spar egg-crate style. A bellcrank

Taper the trailing edge of the core to follow the rib shape. Make provision for mounting the aileron horns. I used ¹⁄₁₆-inch ply glued next to the rib, and filled in around the horn with scrap balsa to allow for adding cover- ing later. Alternately, you could glue in a balsa mounting pad and screw on a plastic horn after covering. Cut a hole in the top sheeting on one side

of the center joint of the wing to fit your aileron servo. Position it so the output arm

mounting plate fits between two ribs in front of the aileron and should be glued in place at this stage. The shaped leading edge, wing tip, trailing edge, and aileron hinge pieces are in place (above right).

lines up with the pushrod holes in the wing. Glue on a couple of basswood or ply mount- ing rails and screw the servo in place. Now temporarily mount and hinge the ailerons. Mount the aileron bellcranks (DuBro micro bellcranks trimmed to fit) and install .037- inch wire pushrods in the wing and to the ailerons. Finally, install and slot some sheeting around the pushrod exits to sup- port the covering material. Sheet the bottom of the wing from the cen-

ter out to the next rib and sand this area smooth. Epoxy in a 2¹⁄₄-inch length of ¹⁄₈-inch brass tube in the channel formed in the ply- wood wing joiners J1 and J2. Now fit the wing to the fuselage. Insert the wing dowels into their matching holes in F4B and F5. Carefully lift the wing into position, trim- ming away the wing saddle sheeting to bring the trailing edge up to the correct position. It should finish up between the 3rd and 4th stringer. If the front dowel holes are drilled
