What are your opening hours? 7.30am – 5.00pm Weekdays 8.00am – 12.00pm Saturdays
How many employees do you have? 9 at the Hove Branch
Which is your busiest day? Mondays
Do you have many regular customers? With our extensive range of hire and sale equipment we have a growing broad base of customer accounts.
When is your busiest time of year? Why do you think this is? We are busy all year albeit with different hire equipment dependant on weather and seasonal activities.
Do particular lines sell well at different times of year? If so, which ones? Again a lot depends on weather in this industry so we are always ready to react.
Do you encourage reps to visit? Yes we are always open to visits from our suppliers as it creates a good working relationship between us, although sometimes it can be a difficult to arrange spare time to have a proper chat.
How do you follow up if a product catches your eye? We do have a centralised purchasing department for the company which covers the hire fleet but as a branch we can stock any consumables that we believe will of interest to our customers.
Why do you deal with particular tool companies? For providing us with a quality product that is sensibly priced and is readily available. All suppliers have to be approved by our Purchasing Department, which does limit the range of companies that we can trade with.
How would a company with good products to sell come to your notice? Firstly by becoming an approved supplier to the group and then demonstrating a product which would fit in with our existing range of equipment.
What changes are afoot? As a company we are always looking to develop new and innovative ideas to improve and broaden our service to our customers. We have just updated our website and the new 2012 catalogue has just arrived in the branches which is packed full of new equipment and useful information.
How do you see the future of the tool trade? Who knows… with the current level of uncertainty in the global markets it is difficult to guess how our marketplace will be next week let alone in the near future.
