Financial strength

An integrated Physical Security Information Management system not only makes financial companies more secure – it offers real business benefits through exploitation of the information it provides

The financial sector faces increasing globalisation and a tidal wave of compliance legislation, driving a requirement for greater corporate assurance. There is a pressing need to step-up to providing an integrated systems view of physical security across the enterprise.

With this comes an opportunity. Globally

integrated physical security systems may be put to work for the bottom-line by leveraging valuable business intelligence data. For example, video systems monitoring bank branches could capture footfall data of customers. Data from access control systems could provide valuable intelligence about the occupancy rate of buildings, allowing institutions to make more efficient use of their corporate estate. This is not currently happening. Right now all that data is locked into physical security systems and is not mined.

The PSIM approach

Enterprises are increasingly looking to Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) solutions to bring together disparate electronic physical security systems. A sophisticated system will liberate business intelligence to run an efficient business as well as ensuring a safer environment.
