Success is a funny type of word as it depend on how you define it. However, if you define it as still being in business, in a job you love doing with a group of people who work hard and like to have a laugh, then we’re successful.
”
“I think the words ‘customer service’ is bantered about quiet flippantly but not truly understood or implemented by many. The words need deep analysis on how they should be applied throughout all areas of your business,” says Derek.
“The academy’s ethos centres around customer care quality standards and giving back to local communities and charitable organisations. We also like to foster a working environment that is enjoyable to be in.”
Derek also believes that the academy has kept ahead of its competition with a relentless focus on quality training, innovation and teacher training. However, when asked whether he thought this was what makes The Waverley Academy a success, he replied: “Success is a funny type of word as it depends on how you define it. However, if you define it as still being in business, in a job you love doing with a group of people who work hard and like to have a laugh, then we’re successful.
“I would also like to think that our focus on ‘doing things right’ and continually reinvesting in facilities have contributed to our success,” he continues.
But from the very beginning, Derek always knew he had hit upon something good whilst still remaining grounded. “Success was always part of the vision so I never imagined it any other way.
