There’s no reason why you can’t come on holiday to Keswick and not spend a minute cooking because there are so many places to eat out to choose from.
If you were here for a month, you could have your full English breakfast in a different place every morning, comparing and contrasting the subtle difference in each Cumberland Sausage.
There would be a new picnic spot for every lunch - whether up in the forest, down by the lake or on the the side of a fell - though the view may steal some of the limelight from the food.

In the evenings you can tuck into hearty fare in almost every traditional Lakeland pub, each one offering its own special menu. Or there’s a mixture of English, French, Italian, Indian, Mexican, Thai and Chinese on offer at the restaurants in Keswick.
But, if the day on the fells has been hard, or you’ve been worn out on the water, or simply it is time for a real treat, here is a list of our favourite Fine Dining venues to try.

The list is short and it is subjective, the venues have been tried and tested by local gourmands and they deliver fine food night after night. None has a Michelin star BUT all produce incredible quality food in a unique setting. There’s seven to choose from - come for a week and try them all!
