aya Vaidya stars as Detective Nina Inara on this fall’s new crime series, “Unforgettable.” She has recently moved with her family to New York City to fi lm the show which airs Tuesday night’s on CBS at 10pm/9c.
Q. Give us your bottom line “mom philosophy”. A. Unconditional love with sensible boundaries.
Q. How do you and your husband divide parenting responsibilities? A. My husband, Don Wallace, and I are both actors, so depending on who’s working, the other tends to handle most of the day- to-day responsibilities, i.e. feeding, nap time, play time, diaper changes, etc. I handled more of the day to day until our daughter was 20 months, but since I’ve been on the show and have been working 13-18 hour days, my husband has to ‘hold down the fort’ as we call it! Just yesterday he sent me a picture text of himself walking in Manhattan with a diaper bag on his shoulder, a hoola hoop in one arm, a sippy cup in the other and our daughter on his back. It was pretty funny! He’s a great Dad and I wouldn’t be able to do this without him.
