The complete archive of Scientifi c American, back to volume 1, issue 1, is now available on nature. com. Users can now access over 160 years of historic medical and technological advancements, scientifi c discoveries and research. Site licence access to the online archive can be purchased as four collections: August 1845-December 1909
(approximately 75,000 articles); January 1910- December 1947 (approximately 38,300 articles); January 1948- December 1992 (approximately 15,800 articles); and January 1993- December 2005 (approximately 4,600 articles). The articles are available as
PDFs.

Social epistemology journal Episteme will move to Cambridge University Press in 2012 with a broader remit and an increase in frequency to four issues per year. The journal has, in its fi rst eight years, pioneered
published The Journal of Clinical Pharmacology for more than 50 years.
The new online-only journal is expected to help facilitate compliance with new US regulation encouraging publication of clinical trials results.

Episteme relaunched and expanded
the fi eld of social epistemology, says the publisher. From 2012, it plans to widen its scope to encompass epistemology as a whole, while simultaneously championing the subfi eld.

Routledge pilots new copyright initiative
Routledge, the social science and humanities imprint of the Taylor & Francis Group, has announced a two-year pilot initiative for the library and information science research community that allows contributors to its library and information science journals to retain the copyright to their work and to post it within their institutional repository without an embargo period.
This initiative applies to any of Routledge’s 35 library and information science journals published from Taylor
& Francis’ Philadelphia offi ce. Under this scheme, an author may post the peer-reviewed version of his or her article (although not the published PDF) into their institutional or subject repository immediately following publication. This is on the conditions that it is not used for any commercial or resale use and that the original place of publication is referenced and a URL link is made to the Version of Record on Routledge’s website.
