Your October issue was as interest- ing and informative as always and I particularly enjoyed “Dark Destina- tions,” which covered museums I have visited — like Auschwitz — and others I never knew existed but are now on my list. As a retired Army Intelligence
guy, I want to fix the caption to the lower photo on page 67, which incor- rectly identifies the tank in the Hun- garian “House of Terror” Museum as a Soviet T-34. It is in fact a pretty standard T-55. It was the newest and best main battle tank in the Soviet in- ventory when it was used against the populace during the failed 1956 Hun- garian uprising. Older models, like the T-34 and T-54, were also present. The driver’s periscopes and the
