The 1000 Mile Sportswear journey began 23 years ago with the launch of the now famous 1000 Mile double layer, blister free sock. With just one product, the only way was indeed up! Over the years the one sock has become a range of over sixty, the company became the distributor of many


leading brands and now, drawing on all that experience, the Ultimate Performance brand has been successfully launched.


The innovation of all products is based on function and performance, and the effort to reach that pinnacle of performance is what drives the range. The initial launch collection was made up of hydration products named after waterfalls in the Lake District – an area which the Company believes symbolizes the very search for ultimate performance.


The latest collection is a range of supports and tapes designed to help athletes carrying a real or potential sporting injury or weakness. Quality, comfort and performance are all high, but the same cannot be said for the prices. The wrist support will retail at £7.99 with products leading up to £39.99 for a hinged knee support. The majority of the products are ‘one size fi ts most’ thus reducing the number of stock units a retailer has to maintain. Alongside the supports is a comprehensive range of tapes including EAB, Cohesive, Golfers and Kinesiology tape with retail prices starting from £3.99 a roll. The website www.ultimate- performance.co.uk is an important tool for the new range acting as an education point for the consumer.


The launch of the new collection has excited brand manager Greg Soffe who told SGB, “These are exciting days for our fl edgling brand. The runaway success of the initial running and outdoor accessory range has well exceeded expectations. Adding supports and tapes to the ever increasing portfolio of products carries Ultimate Performance to another threshold.”
