Discover & Develop Snail’s Pace Race

Manufacturer: Ravensburger Web: www.ravensburger.com Price: £9.99 Age range: 3 years +

Description: Children learn best while interacting and what better way to do so than by playing together! The Discover & Develop range from Ravensburger lets young children develop their inter-personal skills with a set of games guaranteed to cause giggles. In the award-winning Snail’s Pace Race, children of all ages can take part in racing against the clock to try and move their wooden snail to the finish line. Involving no reading or number skills, even the littlest learner can enjoy this game!

Score: 88.0%

What the testers said: “This game is a firm favourite with the children! It supports all areas of the EYFS. The idea of guessing the colour of the first and last snail was a novel one and the lack of a ‘winner’ in the game led to fewer conflicts than usual. It was easy for the children to understand – very simple yet so effective! A lovely toy – well- recommended as a nursery must-have!”

Score: 87.7%

What the testers said: “A lovely game that the children enjoyed playing, which comes with simple rules. The cards were bright, colourful and amusing, and held the children’s interest; there was lots of enthusiastic ‘snapping’ going on! The game provided good learning opportunities linking into the EYFS, particularly numeracy and language, as well as an effective way to teach turn-taking skills. Great value for money.”

Description: New KidzzFarm Animal Hoppers are brightly coloured animal inflatables with soft grippy ears and horns for children to hold onto while they bounce around. ‘Betsy’ has given the traditional space hopper a fabulous makeover, while developing core muscle strength and coordination skills! She comes in a variety of six colour ways complete with her own pump.

Score: 87.7%

What the testers said: “The children were attracted to the colour and design of this toy and knew what to do with it without any instruction. It was durable and easy to clean and made for an interesting alternative to a wheeled ride-on. The animal hopper helps aid physical development and the children enjoyed racing along. We think even younger children can enjoy the hopper – our two-year-olds loved it and were safe and well-suited to it.”
