Day 1 – Arrive Zurich and on to Lucerne Tour begins: 4:00 PM, Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern. A transfer is included from Zurich International Airport to the Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern. Start your alpine adventure in the storybook lakeside city of Lucerne. Meet up at your historic 19th-century grand hotel, then it’s off for a walking tour to discover Lucerne’s cobblestone streets, spires, covered bridges and fountains. Day 2 – Cog railway to Mount Pilatus... and rope park fun After checking out Lucerne’s Löwendenkmal (Lion Memorial), ride the world’s steepest cogwheel train from Alpnachstad up to the top of Mount Pilatus; legend has it that dragons dwell in its cliffs and caves... along with the ghost of Pontius Pilate! Alpine peaks surround you as you descend by aerial cableway to Fraekmuentegg, where more family fun awaits at Switzerland’s largest rope park* or longest summer toboggan run*. Take a gondola to Kriens, then return to Lucerne for time at leisure. Meals BL


Day 3 – Across Lake Lucerne... & through the Alps by train A cruise across shimmering Lake Lucerne to Stansstad whets your family’s appetite for more amazing vistas... before you board the Glacier Express in Andermatt for the most scenic train ride in Europe! Feast your eyes as the train winds its way through the majestic Alps... past silver streams and crystal-blue glaciers... and through lush


valleys speckled with tiny alpine villages that say “Switzerland”! Arrive in St. Moritz, where you’ll spend the next two nights in this fabled resort town in the heart of the Engadine Valley. Meals BLD


Day 4 – Cable cars & mountain bikes in the Engadine Valley An exciting day in the Swiss Alps begins with a cable car ride up an alpine peak for breathtaking views of the upper Engadine Valley. Then you’re off to the Morteratsch Glacier for a mountain hike and rock climbing... a visit to an alpine cheesery for lunch and a look at cheesemaking... and a few surprises!* And there’s no more beautiful place for a leisurely mountain bike ride* back to St. Moritz. Day 5 – Meet an emperor and a ski jumper in old Innsbruck Across the Alps we go from Switzerland to Innsbruck, Austria, whose Old Town reflects its 15th-century days as the capital of Emperor Maximilian I’s Habsburg Empire. Say hi to “old Max” and his wives when they make an “appearance” during your guided walking tour! Later, watch a thrilling ski-jumping demonstration at Innsbruck’s high-tech Bergisel ski jump, designed by architect Zaha Hadid; enjoy a two-night stay in the heart of the Austrian Alps. Meals BD


Day 6 – Whitewater fun at Area 47


Get set for a day of watery fun in the alpine sun at Area 47 – “Europe’s ultimate outdoor playground” in the Ötztal Valley – where you’ll don a neoprene suit and helmet for a whitewater river-rafting adventure*, and spend some time on the slides and other attractions of one of Europe’s newest and biggest water parks. Spend the afternoon as you please. Tonight, feast on Tyrolean fare at a special Alpine evening featuring local entertainment and great fun for all. Meals BLD
