Day 6 – Siena, the Torre del Mangia & On to Florence Wind your way through idyllic Tuscan landscapes to Siena, where you’ll join a local guide on a tour of the Duomo, Siena’s black-and-white masterpiece of a cathedral. See the Piazza del Campo, where the city’s world-famous horse race, the Palio, is run twice yearly. Climb the 400+ steps of the piazza’s 14th-century Torre del Mangia (“Tower of the Eater”), whose name refers to its original guardian’s fondness for food! Continue on to Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance; visit the Galleria dell’Accademia, Europe’s oldest art school and home of Michelangelo’s statue of David. Tonight, a talk by an art historian enlightens and inspires guests of all ages. Meals BD


Day 7 – Renaissance Treasures of Florence Experience the amazing art of the Renaissance at its source today with a guided walking tour of landmark sites in Florence, followed by a visit to the famed Uffizi Gallery with a local expert. Here, within the walls of the world’s oldest art gallery – displaying art treasures since the 1580s – you’ll see some of the world’s greatest masterpieces up close, and learn about the techniques and inspiration of the Renaissance masters who created them, from Leonardo to Michelangelo. The rest of the day is free. Join us for a farewell cocktail reception and dinner tonight at a local restaurant. Meals BD
