Nadira Clarke is a Principal in the Washington, D.C. office of Beveridge & Diamond, P.C. A seasoned trial lawyer with over eighteen years of experience, Nadira specializes in fast-paced, high-stakes, complex environmental litigation, including white collar criminal defense and internal inves- tigations. Nadira has tried scores of jury and bench trials, the majority of which required a mastery of technical or scientific information, and the use of expert witnesses. Nadira previously served as an Assistant U.S Attorney
with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland, and a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney with the U.S. Attor- ney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia. She has also held various other positions with the Department of Justice, including the Environmental Crimes Section and the Natural Resources Section of the Environment & Natu- ral Resources Division. Her service at the Justice Depart- ment culminated in a two year stint as Assistant Counsel in the Office of Professional Responsibility, where she lead several high profile internal investigations into allegations of professional misconduct against high level Department of Justice officials. She is currently the Chair of the Firm’s White Collar Litigation Practice Section. This summer, Nadira defended a large public utility in
a three-week products liability trial in Superior Court for the District of Columbia. Nadira routinely provides guid- ance to companies under criminal investigation, including search warrants and grand jury subpoenas. She draws upon her experience as a former prosecutor, the Firm’s deep bench of regulatory specialists, and a strong rela- tionships with technical consultants to develop detailed, technical, highly successful defenses for companies and individuals. Nadira holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Tufts
University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Cali- fornia Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.
NORMA J. WILLIAMS Williams & Associates
Norma J. Williams is the principal attorney at Williams & Associates, a four attorney transactional commercial real estate law fi rm in Los Angeles. The fi rm’s practice areas are real estate fi nancing, purchase and sale and leasing. Its clients are institutions and other national commercial real estate interests including fi nancial institutions, retailers, pension funds, utility companies, insurance companies, oil companies, government agencies and developers. Transac- tions have included corporate headquarters and other major real estate acquisitions and dispositions, numerous fi nanc- ings secured by offi ce buildings, major retail centers, hotels, theaters, industrial facilities and almost every other property type, as well as numerous and complex leases and ground leases. She was the 2006-2007 Chair of the Real Property Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and has been elected to honorary membership in associations including the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. Ms. Williams chaired the California State Bar Real
Property Section Committee that drafted California Civil Code Section 2938, the most comprehensive state law on assignments of rents in real estate fi nance transactions in the country. The law was used as a model for a Uniform Law that has now been adopted, modifi ed or unmodifi ed, in four states. Norma attended Wesleyan University (Magna Cum Laude,
Phi Beta Kappa) and U.C. Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). She was trained at major California and national law fi rms.
