New connector meets updated base station requirements

Amphenol Industrial has launched Amphe-BTS, a new power connector designed to provide power from a wireless, mast-mounted base station to a remote radio head. This compact, energy-efficient connector meets the stringent requirements demanded by the next generation of base stations. The reliable, field-installable connector is ideal for use by base station manufacturers, telephone operator technicians, AC/DC power supply manufacturers and related installers and eliminates the need to ship heavy cable assemblies all around the world. The Amphe-BTS provides 360° EMI shielding

with grounding fingers and utilises a bayonet locking mechanism that guarantees strong vibration and shock resistance. The connectors

are lightning resistant due to their excellent conductivity. The receptacle has crimp contacts and the plug has screw termination contacts for easy field installation and replacement. This circular connector, based on MIL-C- 26482 series 2, features a brass shell construction with tin over nickel plating, making it corrosion resistant and compliant with ISO 21207. It is IP65 rated and UL and TUV certified, has a cable sealing range of 7 mm to 18 mm, a temperature range of -55°C to +85°C and is available in a standard two-way 48 VDC, a two- way reverse gender 48 VDC and a three-way 400 VDC/250 VAC power configuration.

Molex MX150 Headers offer advanced sealant design

Molex has released the MX150 single and dual- row headers for use in high-temperature automotive and commercial vehicle applications. Complementing widely used MX150 receptacle connectors (series 33471 and 33472), the MX150 sealing interface has been designed to meet IP6K7 and IP6K9K sealing requirements. The MX150 has been designed for automotive and commercial vehicles, recreational vehicles, construction equipment, and marine applications. Key features include: a rugged,

environmentally sealed connector system supports both low-level signal and power applications up to 22.0A; PCB board alignment and retention features simplify header placement and retention; a sealing geometry that incorporates spray shield to meet IP6K7 and IP6K9K requirement; and a high-performance MX150 connector system in a reduced package size that is suitable for SAE-style wire in challenging applications. The connector system features all-in-one plug

and receptacle housings with pre-assembled, wire and interfacial connector seals. The solder- tail and compliant-pin electrical interfaces provide

module design flexibility and lower applied costs by eliminating the need to purchase, handle and crimp individual wire seals. Integral terminal position assurance (TPA) and optional connector position assurance (CPA) components allow simple terminal insertion and secure seating to prevent accidental disengagement during high vibration and severe shock applications. Integral, two-way matte and interfacial Molex MX150 header seals conform to IEC IP67 and SAE USCAR-2, Rev 4 standards and are rated for use in on-engine, high vibration, under-hood and under-chassis environments at class 3 (-40 to +125°C) operating conditions.

FP Series switch is suitable for use in telecom/datacom applications

har-port service interfaces for Ethernet and USB

Harting's new har-port is an addition to the company's product range that offers service interfaces for Ethernet and USB. har-port makes control units and industrial computer interfaces accessible from the outside, which means that the new service interface is suitable for use in switchboard cabinets and control terminals. Thanks to its compact design, however, har-port is also a suitable communications interface for conference tables or high-grade workstations.

The assembly calls for just one central fastening nut in a standardised circular 22 mm panel cut-out, which is also used for all industrial control switches. The har-port product range comprises service interfaces for 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet as well as USB 2.0 and 3.0 Type A. Accessories such as protection covers and sealing covers that protect the interface against unauthorised use and label

C&K Components has developed an ultra- miniature pushbutton switch that saves assembly time and money. Designated the FP Series, the totally sealed construction utilises an o-ring between the actuator and bushing, which prevents contamination. This sealing feature allows for automated soldering and cleaning, which saves time and money during the assembly process. The RoHS-compliant switches are available in both vertical and right angle mount configurations, and offer an extended operating life to 50,000 cycles. The miniature FP Series switches only measure 5.6mm x 7mm, with a board height of only 5mm for the right angle version and 4.5mm x 7mm, with a board height of only 5.6mm for the vertical version. With its ultra miniature size and versatility via the vertical and right angle mount configurations, the FP Series pushbutton switches are ideal for use in telecom and datacom applications.

The FP Series switches feature gold over nickel-plated contacts and are available with or without a white, black or red cap. The FP Series switches feature a contact

High-current connector module provides safe dissipation of stray currents

New from Harting the Han(R) HC Modular 250 PE is a high-current contact designed to provide safe dissipation of stray currents in applications where the protection function is implemented with pluggable PE (protective earth) conductors. The new contact has a compact and robust design, and is designed to be used instead of a power contact in the Han(R) HC Modular 250 mounting frame. The flexible configuration and

arrangement make coding possible. A commercially available screwdriver is all that is needed for assembly and dismantling. The new contact is vibration-proof, and offers low contact resistances between hood and housing. It supports crimping in accordance with DIN EN 46235, and is compatible with Harting's existing HC 250 holding frame. The Han-Modular(R) series is recognised as a highly versatile, open connector system that allows users to configure connectors to match the needs of particular applications. The new Han(R) HC Modular 250 PE supplements more than 30 existing modules for handling electrical, optical and pneumatic signals.

Industrial connectors from Lane can handle up to 16A

Lane Electronics is stocking the Binder RD24 692/693 Series of circular power connectors designed for a variety of industrial applications. Lane Electronics is a franchised distributor for Binder in the United Kingdom. These are four and seven pole screw locking connectors that provide protection to IP67 when mated and locked. The pins are silver-plated brass and the sockets are bronze. Customers can select from screw, crimp or solder terminations. Field attachable and panel versions have

plastic bodies made from PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) while Polyurethane moulded versions are supplied on 2m PVC cable. They are available in standard (692 series) or UL (693 series) versions and can handle cable diameters from 6 to 12mm.

The four pole version is rated to 16A (12A for UL version) and the seven pole version 10A (8A). Maximum voltage for the four pole version is 400V (600V for UL) and 250V for both seven pole versions. Operating temperature range is up to 100ºC and users can expect a lifetime of more than 500 mating cycles.
