Alumni Experts Share Entertainment Industry Insights
T e entertainment industry was the focus of this year’s View from the Top event, an evening featuring a panel of alumni experts plus ample networking opportunities. In March, hundreds of alumni gathered in Los Angeles to discuss how innovations in technology and programming are changing the shape of entertainment.
T e alumni panelists hailed from diverse sectors of the entertainment world: Albert Cheng ’92, EVP for digital media for Disney ABC Television Group; Bran Ferren ’74, cochair of Applied Minds; Laird Malamed ’89, senior VP and head
of development for Activision Blizzard, Inc.; and Andrea Wong ’88, member of the Liberty Media board and the former president and CEO of Lifetime Enter- tainment Services.
T e audience at the event, which was cosponsored by the Alumni Association and the MIT Club of Southern Califor- nia, consisted of actors, writers, producers, special-eff ects experts, game designers, and other alumni from the area.
