Volunteers, Giving Societies Lead the Way

If outstanding commitment merits celebration, the MIT Annual Fund had a lot to celebrate this past year. Hundreds of dedicated fundraising volunteers gave signifi cant portions of their time to raise an extraordinary $52,408,833 in MIT support from fellow alumni, parents, students, and friends.

Donors included 5,738 members of the William Barton Rogers Society (WBRS), honoring the Institute’s most generous annual supporters, and 16,666 members of the 1861 Circle, honoring those who’ve given to MIT in each of the past fi ve fi scal years. Leading the way were 3,210 members of both societies, demonstrating a profound and widespread allegiance to this very special place.
