Thrill a minute If you’re searching for thrills and spills on your holiday then Tenerife can certainly deliver a great day out for the family. Whether you like adventure or a more

relaxed approach, you’ll be well catered for at Siam Park Water Kingdom near Adeje. Set among exotic gardens with Thai-style buildings, it has a selection of exhilarating rides, as well as more genteel attractions like the Mai Thai River where you can drift along. Further places to rest and lap up the sun can be found at the park’s white sand beach, but don’t get into the water — unless you want to go wave jumping that is. Siam Park’s thrilling attractions kick

off with the Wave Palace — where you can jump wave after exhilarating wave, some up to three metres high. Adrenaline junkies will love The

Volcano and The Dragon, which use the force of gravity to take you on a journey through dark tunnels. But only the bravest will take on the Tower of Power — a 92-foot vertical drop water slide that sends you powering through a tunnel in a shark-infested tank. If you’re looking for a more restful activity, head to Pueblo Chico in La Orotava, a theme park with miniature versions of the Canary Islands’ famous gardens, beaches and monuments. Meanwhile nature lovers will adore

Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz, home to the world’s largest collection of parrots and the largest penguinarium, as well as sharks, sea-lions, dolphins, orcas, tigers and monkeys in an environment focused on conservation. Tenerife Zoo Monkey Park, close to Los Cristianos, is an international breeding centre for endangered primates, but you’ll also see black leopards, toucans, lemurs, iguanas and more.
