Wipeout! ProSlide at Six Flags

Wipepout (Tantrum Alley)

Six Flags Great America near Chicago has installed two new ProSlide waterslide complexes at its Riptide Bay waterpark, including the Canadian manufacturer’s first combination double SuperLoop/Speedway and North America’s first outdoor TantrumAlley. Each FreeFall slide features an 80º drop, while the

SuperLoops are intertwined with one another to offer an intense ride experience. To ride each of these four slides, guests must climb inside a SkyBox trapdoor launch system, inspect their fate through the transparent floor panel and take their last breath before being dispatched into the slide. The launch angle of the SkyBox has been carefully calculated to provide a high speed ride and the greatest sensation of weightlessness.

Even the waterparks are bigger in Texas!

Water playground

structures have got so big in recent years that some are almost a waterpark in themselves, and a new attraction in Texas is exactly that.

Conforming to the adage “Everything is bigger in Texas" the WhiteWater AquaPlay Giant RainFortress at Hawaiian Falls Roanoke is equipped with 20 waterslides, more than on any other play structure worldwide. Combining WhiteWater’s Family Boomerango, three-lane Mat Racer, SuperBowl and a multitude of body slides and with over 300 AquaPlay water features, this mammoth installation promises to keep guests happy and wet all day long. Two tipping buckets are included together with interactive water guns, spray jets and geysers.

Also included at the waterpark is a wave pool and lazy river. Admission is $23.99 (€16.85), or $16.99 for those under 48 inches/over 55 years in age.

Aqua Fantasy adds hybrid slide

Part of Aqua Fantasy Hotel and Spa in Izmir, Turkey, Aqua Fantasy Waterpark has opened a unique water slide from Polin Waterparks & Pool Systems. The new ride is attached to the same tower as a family rafting slide and a wave slide added by Polin last year and is a combination of the manufacturer’s rafting slide and Uphill Flying Boats. Finished in light blue/ dark blue stripes, this fast, surprising, double-tube slide with double uphill portions totals 131 metres in length, with a maximum width of almost 15 metres.

"This ride is very unique because it has two uphill portions – without any water jets,” notes Polin senior architect Zeynep Canbaz. "The adrenaline is high, people are so happy and the lines are very long," adds Aqua Fantasy waterpark manager Muharrem Atilla. "We have a great relationship with Polin and they understand our needs."

The new slide can be seen in blue stripes

The TantrumAlley, which the park has named Wipeout, winds a four-person

Cloverleaf raft through a tunnel and into two Tornado-style funnels, each promising several oscillations before feeding the

raft on through the rest of the ride. Six Flags now has 14 Tornado Installations by

ProSlide at its various parks and waterparks across the United States.
