Rozanne M. Guinta (JD ’79) was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy on March 18, 2011, in Washington, DC. Guinta is one of 40 nominees being inducted.
Rosemary Larson (MUND ’79) retired as Midwest major gifts officer for Heifer International. She was Mundelein’s alumni director from 1980 to 1984. She was later involved in fundraising for Marillac High School, St. Ignatius Col- lege Prep, and St. Vincent DePaul Center.
LaRue Martin Jr. (BA ’79) was featured on the June 19 episode of HBO’s hit show Real Sports, starring Bryant Gumbel. Martin was the number one overall pick in the 1972 NBA draft.
Francis J. Sicius (PhD ’79), professor of history at St. Thomas University in Miami, received a Ful- bright scholarship to Chile for the 2011-2012 academic year. He will be teaching and doing research at Alberto Hurtado University, where Loyola’s law school has had a col- laborative program since 2002.

Rev. Michael Barber, S.J. (MDIV ’80), a renowned Jesuit phi- losopher and dean of St. Louis University’s College of Philosophy and Letters since 2009, is now dean of the school’s College of Arts and Sciences.
Mary Nies, PhD, FAAN, FAAHB (MSN ’80), Carol Grotnes Belk Endowed Chair in Nursing of the University of North Carolina- Charlotte, is being inducted into the Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame by Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Nies has focused on health promotion across the lifespan for vulnerable populations. She is the author
of the textbook Community/Public Health Nursing, a member of Sigma Xi Scientific Research Honor Society, and a fellow of the American Acad- emy of Nursing and the Academy of Health Behavior.
Maureen Murphy Leahy (BBA ’81), senior counsel for the Archdio- cese of Chicago, received the 2011 Distinguished Graduate Award from St. Edward School in Chicago at its 100th anniversary celebration.
Joseph S. Paprocki (BA ’81, MPS ’85), national consultant for Faith Formation for Loyola Press, published Practice Makes Catholic —Moving from a Learned Faith to a Lived Faith. He was also the featured keynote speaker at the Honolulu Cat- echetical Conference in June 2011.
The Honorable Anita M. Alvarez (BS ’82) delivered the keynote ad- dress at Illinois Institute of Technol- ogy-Kent College of Law on May 15, 2011. Alvarez received her JD from IIT-Kent in 1986.

Arthur J. Lurigio (PhD ’84), associ- ate dean for faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences and professor of psychology and criminal justice at Loyola, is lead investigator in the most recent study of the Illinois Disproportionate Justice Commis- sion, “which found that people of color, particularly African-Americans, are disproportionately prosecuted and sent to prison for drug crimes in Illinois.”
Gabriella Dietrich-Filippi (BS ’85) published a book, Celebrate Your Seasons: Inspirational Devotions to Progress in Love and Grace.
Ron Felber (MA ’85), president and CEO of Chemetall, published Presi- dential Lessons in Leadership, a book about the lives and leadership styles of four American presidents.
Steven Ritter (MSW ’82) published his first book, Team Clock: A Guide to Breakthrough Teams in 2010. He is the CEO of the Team Clock Institute, a consultancy in Elmhurst, Illinois, that provides assessment and training to businesses, professional sports teams, schools, and community organizations.
Randall Curran (MBA ’83) was named to the board of directors for RDA Holding Co., a global media and direct marketing company.
James F. Haworth (BBA ’84), formerly the head of marketing and strategy for Philips Professional Lu- minaries North America, is now chief executive officer for Lighting Science Group, a “leading American maker of LED-based lighting.” Haworth is a CPA and holds an MBA from J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University.
Jack B. Fishman (MBA ’84) joined NHB Advisors, a turnaround and restructuring consulting firm, as
Lawrence N. Gray, MD (MRES ’85), of Atlantic Plastic Surgery Center and the inventor of “Scarless Breast Reduction,” was named the top plastic surgeon in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, by the International As- sociation of Healthcare Professionals. He will be featured in The Leading Physicians of the World, a yearly publication featuring “the most distinguished and desired medical professionals from every specialty.”
Mary Ann Smith (MUND ’85) was honored during the Ann F. Baum Women and Leadership Speaker Series on March 24 at Loyola’s Mundelein Auditorium with fellow Alderwoman Ginger Rugai (BS ’67, MA ’01). They discussed their experi- ences as alderwomen working with the Daley administration.
