are behind new ideas. Of course we have our 2 Corporate Golf Days each year, but I am always looking at what others are doing, talking with donors and colleagues. I am currently working on ‘Kids for Kids’, trying to get school-kids involved helping other kids. It is important to get kids thinking about social responsibility in a more natural way.”
Day, I was at our centre in Thembalethu where Standard Bank’s staff came along. They were training people how to prepare a CV, etiquette when you approach a Corporate for a job, interacting with the ladies, painting the centre and playing sports with the kids from our ‘chance to play programme’.”
When asked about her next career move, Sarah thinks she might do a Masters, but with so many options to choose from, she hasn’t quite made up her mind yet. “There are lots of programmes that merge my interests, Not-For-Profit and business. So there is no fixed plan for what is next, perhaps back to the USA, spend time with my family there, perhaps travelling to another part of the world. I would be happy in a lot of places, I love meeting people. For now, there are a lot of things I enjoy about South Africa. I love the little things that happen during the day, things that can only happen here, people are really friendly, anywhere you go”.

That reminds me of Manhattan, the way you can meet new people, someone passing by or in a cafe. You can’t do that in other areas such as Bryanston. I adore 44 Stanley, Braamfontein, Parkhurst, I just get out of the car, walk around, go to a restaurant. People should have pride in SA. I am very happy to be part of it.”
