• The machine has a crucible volume of 15,695 cu. yards (12,000 cu. m), which corresponds to 220 lbs. (100 kg) of copper alloy. The new system can be used to produce reels with cross sections of up to 7.9 x 0.79 in. (200 x 20 mm.)

S-Print High Heat Strength • The new sand mold printer line is for high heat strength sand casting applications. The printers place micro-drop- lets of foundry-grade resin onto thin layers of specially engineered permeable casting media.

• In addition to showcasing its various high-production green sand molding lines, the global Sinto family debuted its newest molding technology for small job shops. The FDNX matchplate molding machine is ideal for convert- ing manual molding to automatic molding, as it is com- pact and pitless. With a mold size of 17.7 x 13.8 x 5.9/5.9 in. (450 x 350 x 150/150 mm), the system can produce flaskless molds at a rate of 100/hour.

Nobake Equipment • Tinker Omega’s three-arm articulated mixer with hydraulic lift and a 47.6-ft. (14.5-m) reach is one of the world’s largest continuous mixers.


• A working 100-ton-per-hour mixer operating with the company’s latest tagging technology and self-teach system, along with a section of fast loop, also were on display.

Environmentally-friendly 3-D Printing System • Voxeljet teamed with Huttenes-Albertus, Düsseldorf, Germany, to create a 3-D printing system that produces molds and cores made with inorganic binders.


• The system uses a molding material with inorganic prepared sand that is applied to an area in a fine layer and then printed with a liquid. The printing solution activates the binder, which binds the surrounding material.
