Scandinavian favourite Norway has revamped its Norway Knowledge training site by updating the content and simplifying the modules. The training programme is designed
to help agents become familiar with and sell more holidays to a country that is widely recognised as one of the most spectacular and unspoilt destinations in the world.
Norway in Context Renowned for its clean, unpolluted air, deep fjords, high mountains, spectacular landscapes and friendly people, Norway is the ideal destination for travellers in search of a nature- based holiday and is becoming an increasingly popular choice for British travellers, both in the summer for short breaks and winter for a ski trip.

The Opportunities The programme offers an introduction to the destination and then covers summer, winter and short-break holidays in Norway to fully explain its year-round appeal. Information on additional destinations has also been added so even agents who have already trained on the programme will find it is worthwhile taking another look. Norway is just two hours flying time
from the UK and has plenty of good air links. The product range on offer is varied, from the white-sandy beaches, beautiful fjords and vibrant cities in the south to the midnight sun and northern lights in the north.

Paula Emmenegger, who said: “I really enjoyed the Norway Knowledge training programme. I have been to Norway myself and enjoyed every visit, but found while doing the training programme that there were a lot of things I did not know about. All in all, the training was very worthwhile and beneficial. Hopefully I will soon be able to put the knowledge to good use with my clients and make some sales!” The exams have been revised too
and those who have already completed the training can now rework them to refresh their memory or use the information as a helpful sales resource.

Top Destinations: Major cities include Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim. The remainder of the country is home to its amazing landscapes, and mountains, lakes, glaciers, forests and fjords that make up almost 95 per cent of the land.
Activities: Rambling, cycling, fi shing, white-water rafting, kayaking, bird watching, golf and of course sightseeing are all very popular pursuits in the summer. In winter attention turns to skiing, king crab fi shing, whale watching or, for the hardy, a stay in one of the country’s ice hotels. This is also the best time of the year to see the spectacular Northern Lights phenomenon.
Climate: Summer days can be long and balmy with temperatures reaching more than 30C. This is also the time to experience the Midnight Sun. During mid-winter temperatures dip but in the spring and early autumn, when most Brits travel to the country, the temperatures and climate are very similar to the UK.
