Malta is a popular alternative to the
Middle East, with customers surprised at how much there is to see: stunning landscapes and neolithic monuments to rival Stonehenge
James Adkin
product executive, Explore “Since we launched Explore’s Malta & Gozo
Discovery tour last year it’s been selling well. Malta seems to appeal more to older clients, with most travelling between April and the start of June, or September or October to avoid the hottest months. It’s a popular alternative to the Middle East, with customers surprised at how much there is to see: stunning landscapes, friendly people and Neolithic monuments to rival Stonehenge, and plenty of time to relax and rejuvenate.”
Emma Yorke national sales manager, Belleair Holidays
“Belleair Holidays has seen
an increase in holiday bookings for both accommodation-only and multi-centre holidays in Malta as well as on Gozo or Comino. "Encouragingly, there has also been an increase in city breaks (particularly to the capital, Valletta) and the fi ve- star market also remains particularly buoyant right now, with top sellers including The Hilton, The Phoenicia, Ta Cenc, Westin Dragonara and the Radisson Blu."

My Malta... by Laura Gelder
“Our first peek at Malta’s most popular dive site, the Blue Hole, was from the cliff-top. It sits just under the craggy Azure Window, which frames the cornflower- blue sea lapping Gozo’s dramatic coast. It was a tough trek to the natural pool, across the roughly-cut rocks in the midday sun. Just as steam started to rise from our neoprene wet suits we reached our entry point and slipped into the deliciously cool water. Descending into the blue we entered a sub-aqua rock garden where golden cup coral waved with the rush and flow of the sea.
"Deeper still, we explored a cave by torch as our oxygen pooled like liquid silver above us, before ascending, slowing to the circular patch of daylight where swimmers' white legs pumped furiously, treading water.”
