“Once again there was tremendous interest in the Golden Service Awards from

both large and small contract cleaning companies as well as in-house cleaning teams across every sector,” said Marta Longhurst, regional marketing manager, UK, Ireland & Benelux at Kimberly-Clark Professional. “Overall the educational, healthcare and large retail unit categories attracted the most entries which has always been the case. Although Kimberly- Clark Professional created the Golden Service Awards, we believe that we should not do the judging. The paper judging stage was carried out by an awards committee which was made up of professionals from every major industry association.”

Andrew Large, chief

executive of the CSSA and secretary general of the British Cleaning Council, said: “The awards

committee spent a long day reviewing the submissions to determine which would make it through to the finals. Points were awarded based on the amount of relevant information supplied and the quality of the testimonials. Innovation, staff management, training and client relationship were among the main criteria assessed and it was not the size of the business that was important, but the quality of the service provided.” Stan Atkins, chief executive officer of The British Institute of Cleaning Science, which has taken ownership of the judging

The Golden Service Awards ceremony will take place on Friday 4 November 2011 at the Lancaster London Hotel. More than 500 members of the industry and press are expected to attend.

Organised by: Gold Sponsor:

process for the Golden Service Awards 2011, said: “Our team of expert judges has already met to review the finalists and plan for the site visits which will take place throughout June and July. Only one judge is responsible for each category so that all entries are equally assessed and the judges will be looking to see whether standards have been achieved, not simply whether specifications have been followed.” The Golden Service

Awards recognise excellence in the cleaning and support services industry and provide a benchmark for quality and a means of identifying organisations who are leaders in their fields.

The winners will be announced at The Golden Service Awards ceremony which will take place on Friday 4 November at the Lancaster London hotel. A well-known BBC presenter has agreed to MC the event and there will also be breathtaking acts to entertain the audience throughout the lunch. Over 500 industry professionals are expected to attend.

Tickets are available at a cost of £150 + vat and can be purchased through the press office on 08000 192 422 or by email:
