QuantaRed Technologies is a high-tech spin-off company from the Vienna University of Technology. The QuantaRed Technologies team started their R&D activities with Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) technology for 12 years in 1999 (!). It was the first company world-wide to discover the technological advantages in the measurement of liquids and the industrial potential of this technology.
Another success story is the German Magforce Nanotechnologies (MF6.FSE) that thanks to their long- term thinking investors successfully push their product commercialization. Founder of the German compa- ny was Dr Andreas Jordan. He was responsible for about 15 international patent families, and developed the so called NanoTherm®
therapy, a new approach for the local treatment of solid tumours. But most
importantly for the success, he appointed a CEO for the operational business. Andreas Jordan kept his CSO position, the new CEO concentrated on the market entry.
It doesn‘t matter at all whether it is nano or micro or cleantech. If there is a market for a new develop- ment, if the funding and management work, then the company will continue to be successful and will be able to grow.
