M (NYSE: MMM), through its New Ventures Business, has invested in GoNano Technologies
Inc., a developer and manufacturer of high surface area nanomaterials for pollution control, cataly- sis, composites and sensory technologies head- quartered in Moscow, Idaho. Terms of the transac- tion were not disclosed.
GoNano Technologies applies its versatile silica- based Nanospring technology to solve problems for customers seeking high surface area next genera- tion solutions such as catalytic converters, Carbon Capture & Recycle™ and continuous flow reactors. GoNano Technologies was founded in 2007 for the purpose of commercializing the Nanospring techno- logy platform, which was developed over a decade long collaboration between Washington State Uni- versity and University of Idaho.
„GoNano Technologies’ unique technology platform offers significant performance improvements for che- mical flow reactions that benefit from large surface areas,” Stefan Gabriel, president, 3M New Ventures, said. “The combination of this potentially game- changing nanomaterial with our technology platforms further stimulates disruptive innovation and creates new business opportunities in the catalytic conversi- on space for 3M.”

This repositionable tape is easy to use and satisfies a long-unmet need for clinicians seeking reliable adhesion and gentle, atraumatic removal, minimizing the likelihood of tape-related skin injury. 3M Kind Removal Silicone Tape launched at the Wound Ostomy and Conti- nence Nurses Society (WOCN) conference in New Orleans, USA, and will be available throughout the Unites States beginning June 22, 2011.
Furthermore, 3M Skin and Wound Care introduces 3M™ Tegaderm™ Diamond Pattern Film Dressing, a versatile dressing solution with transparent, breatha- ble film, preferred frame delivery system and new, Comfort Adhesive Technology. Tegaderm™ Diamond Dressings will be available in the Unites States as well as selected international markets.
3M has entered into an agreement to acquire Advanced Chemistry & Technology Inc. (AC TECH), a manufacturer of quick cure, light-weight polysulfide sealants for aerospace applications. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
