LOCATION Think about the kind of backdrop that expresses who you are, as well as places that are meaningful to you. You’re photographer will mostly likely be happy to follow you to your favorite haunt or first date spot. Will your location choice reflect your sense of style, the feeling you’d like to have for your images?

PROPS AND ACCESSORIES Once you’ve covered the basics of your own appearance, the next step to consider is the little extras. Consider incorporating props into your scene. You’re telling a story – you’re setting the stage. Sunglasses, hats, mustaches, balloons, bubbles, flowers, books, furniture, and signs – these are all great ways to set your session apart and express yourselves! Plan an activity to give you something to do and illustrate who the two of you are together and what you enjoy. For all out styling we recommend going straight to the source – Shindig Weddings and Events! For flowers we can’t say enough about Flowers by Natalie.

Finally, put those gorgeous photos to good use! We love seeing our portraits incorporated into save the date cards, placed on their wedding website, shared in a wedding day slideshow or used in a guest sign in book.
