how I became a Geek in the fi rst place. I actually started out as a landscape designer. It wasn’t unusual for clients to ask for lighting for walkways or terraces. But I didn’t like the quality of the typical ‘stick with a bulb’ fi xtures, or the way they made a spectacular garden design look common. So I set out to fi nd better, more attractive fi xtures. Instead, I discovered light.”
“I get incredible satisfaction from leading others to the same discovery— especially my clients. When we fi rst meet, the conversation almost always starts with a discussion about fi xtures. Most people think that’s where lighting begins. But when they see my portfolio and realize that they can use light as a means of self-expression, they get as excited about the possibilities as I do.
